Privacy Policy
We value your privacy. 🙂 (Seriously, we collect very little.)
This policy covers tapchaos.com and the games on its subdomains. The controller is Tap Chaos, a sole proprietorship based in India.
Players
- No account, no cookies, no third-party trackers. We don't use advertising trackers or cross-site tracking of any kind.
- An anonymous random ID stored in your browser's localStorage, so we can keep your personal best, streaks and Daily Challenge attempts. It isn't linked to your name or email. Clear your browser storage and it's gone.
- An optional nickname, if you choose one for the Daily leaderboard. It's shown publicly. Please don't use your real name.
- Gameplay statistics: what happened in a run (score, time, which popups appeared and were closed). We use them in aggregate, for example to show advertisers how their popups performed.
- IP addresses are used briefly to deliver the service. We store them only as salted, regularly rotating hashes, for rate limiting and fraud prevention. We can't turn a hash back into your address.
- Page analytics are cookieless and aggregate: page views, countries and devices, with no profile of you.
Advertisers
- Your email address, used for receipts and campaign emails, and not shown publicly.
- An optional X handle, if you give one, used to tag you in posts and on your report card.
- The campaign content you submit (name, tagline, logo, colour, URL), which is displayed publicly in our games and on your report card.
- Payment details are handled entirely by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. We never see or store your card or UPI details. We receive confirmation of the payment and its amount.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal data.
- We don't target ads using personal data. Every player sees the same rotation.
- We don't track you across other sites.
Who else handles data
We use a small set of service providers to run the site: Cloudflare (hosting, network and storage), Dodo Payments (payments), and an email provider for transactional emails to advertisers. They process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Children
Our games are for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, and none is required to play. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you (for example an advertiser's email address) by writing to hello@tapchaos.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time. We keep records of payments for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
